Why I have no interest in watching football this weekend

Let me say how pumped I am about the NFC Championship Game this weekend at the Linc. I will be there, and I have a lot of confidence we are going to win. That being said, I am probably as confident as the Giants fans seemed to be last week (LOL). The difference is the Giants were TD+ road underdogs and actually had a losing record in the latter part of the season. Meanwhile, the Eagles are 15-1 as home favorites with Jalen Hurts at QB. SF is traveling across the country on a short week. If the Birds win this week, it is my plan to travel to Arizona for Super Bowl LVII. But I do not want to look ahead. GO BIRDS!! You will know on Sunday evening at around 7 pm whether it has been a great weekend.

Well, it was a great weekend, and the following week, I wrote Some Philly Talk About the Chiefs. Then, the following week, February 10th, two days before Super Bowl LVII, I offered 8 concise bullet points about the Birds and the Big Game. If you want to make good use of your time this weekend, I strongly recommend you read this instead of watching lame Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. It will take much less time and be a lot more uplifting.
Finally, the following week, in my Eagles Coda, I delivered some final thoughts on a momentous season that fell one game short. Believe me, even my semi-positive take while lamenting a Super Bowl loss is a ton cheerier than this year’s game.

In fact, things are so bad that the most positive thing I can say as an Eagles fan this Sunday is LET’S GO, CHIEFS!! I think every Birds fan can appreciate that. I guess I will find out what happened when I get some news alert on Sunday night.
Anyway, I plan to have a great weekend not thinking about football, and I hope you do the same (except maybe read last year’s pre-Super Bowl ATB). And, wishing you peace and prosperity in the Year of the Dragon. Happy Lunar New Year!
Warm regards,
Jeff

This absolutely gorgeous 5+BR, 2.1 bath sunny Victorian is at the corner of 45th St. & Larchwood Ave. in the Spruce Hill section of University City/ West Philly. It’s loaded with original c. 1902 details including natural woodwork, leaded glass and gleaming oak floors, all beautifully maintained and move-in ready. There’s a 4th floor under-the-eaves loft room in addition to the usual three floors of living space. A 1000+ s.f. finished lower level office area with an outside entrance, makes working from home a breeze.
Clark Park is only 2 blocks away, and the location is in the catchment area for the popular Penn Alexander K-8 public grade school.* It’s just north of Baltimore Ave., West Philly’s “main street”- an eclectic mix of restaurants and shops. Catch the trolley on Baltimore Ave. for a fast 15- minute ride to the very heart of center city Philadelphia, with stops along the way at UPenn, Drexel U, and the 30th St. transportation hub. (*Catchment area address doesn’t guarantee admittance.)
