The Eagles and Superbowl LII
As some of you know (and others may have assumed), I am a huge Eagles fan. I simply love the Birds and I really appreciate how they are playing right now. I have been a season ticket holder since they played at Veterans Stadium. Back then I sat in the 700 Level. When they moved to the Linc, I moved to the Lower Bowl (I miss the 700 level and the Vet for football, by the way. Authentic Philly).
I will never forget traveling to Minneapolis with my uncles and cousins in February 2018 to attend Super Bowl LII. Eagles vs Patriots. Nick Foles and Tom Brady. Doug Pederson and Bill Belichick. The Philly Special. One of the greatest Super Bowls in history. I was pretty ecstatic at the end, as you can tell from this selfie.

And it meant a lot to me later that spring when I got to take my kids to the Linc to see the Lombardi Trophy in person.

Of course, this year, the Eagles are 3-0 and this Sunday at 1:00 pm marks Coach Doug Pederson’s return to Lincoln Financial Field for the first time since he parted ways with the Birds—now as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. I am super pumped for the game…but I have an out-of-town wedding to go to and can’t attend. Note: While I obviously wanted to go to the game, I want to be clear that this wedding is for a very close family member, and I would not miss it for anything.
The good news for ATB readers and Eagles fans (and I guess Jags fans if any of them read the ATB) is that I am raffling off my two tickets for Sunday’s game. (Ticket giveaway is now over.) My seats are in Section 125, towards the corner of the Lower Bowl, and one cool thing about my section is that the rows right behind my seats are often populated by players’ families. Typically Eagles players and sometimes the opposing team (like when DeSean Jackson’s mom sat there and went crazy when DeSean scored a long 4th quarter TD leading the team formerly known as the Redskins to a come-from-behind victory. Exceedingly unpleasant at the time, but while that feeling has long faded, the memory of DeSean’s enthusiastic mom remains).
Let’s get to it, then. The LII reply I receive to this ATB gets the tickets (which I will then transfer electronically). Good luck to you and good luck to the Eagles against the much-improved Jags. (Please note that City of Philadelphia REALTORS® are not eligible for these tickets).
I plan to listen to the game on Sunday as we drive back from the wedding. I can get Merrill and Mike on SiriusXM Channel 226 (leaving this here so I remember what channel to tune into when I look back over the ATB on Sunday). Finally, it was great seeing the GOAT play in Super Bowl LII. And by that, of course, I mean Nick Foles!
Have a great weekend! GO BIRDS! E-A-G-L-E-S!!
