A few random thoughts on the summer so far:
1. Crazy busy. Tons of properties under contract and settlements. Thank you to all my clients and to my wife and kids for understanding this has been the busiest July ever.
2. I have still been able to take some time off and do some quick trips with my family. Maine in July. Hocking Hills State Park with amazing Waterfalls in August. And hikes in the Wissahickon on random weekend days.
3. 2019 has been a great year so far for the City Block Team. Sales and satisfaction are both up from 2018. As I approach my first anniversary at Compass (in one month), I am so thankful that the City Block Team made the decision to join this amazing company. And every CBT agent and staff member feels the same way. They are all a huge part of our success. We have all found our place in the world.
4. Philadelphia remains the best place to live and work.
Summer continues.
Have a great weekend.

Fun Stuff in Philly & More

Note–this entry is the opposite of fun!
The Chestnut Street Bridge is getting a makeover and will be closed for a year
This 62-year-old bridge is overdue for repairs (no surprise there).
This really sucks because the bridge was packed every single day. As were the alternate routes (South, Market, JFK, even Grays Ferry). Now it will be so much worse.
OK. But we survived the longer closing of the South Street Bridge last decade and it was worth it when done.
The Chestnut Street Bridge will also see major improvements including
a dedicated bike lane, new lighting, and wider sidewalks. You can view PennDOT’s official statement
and read detailed information about scheduled improvements here. Access to the Schuylkill River Trail from Chestnut St will be closed as well. Photo: Wikipedia.org.

“Is this Love?”Well, it’s Love Park which is the location of Jamaica’s 57th Independence Celebration & Bob Marley Tribute and it’s pretty much happening all day on Sunday, 8/11 (10 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.) – that’s a lot of time to ‘get together and feel all right.’ Enjoy an ice-cold Red Stripe with some curried goat, perhaps, as well as tons more food, giveaways, and contests. More info about this family-fun day here.

Cliveden Scavenger Hunt is Tonight
It’s called Clues & Booze & Chews: Twilight Tales and it’s from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m at
Cliveden of the National Trust –
6401 Germantown Ave. Tickets are $35 and available here. The Grounds, Visitor Center, and Main House will be the setting where you can solve clues about Cliveden’s past. To determine the answers, you’ll need to use the clues provided. I think this is an awesome date night idea if you’re 21 or over. More info here too.

Port Richmond Blues FestivalAt this fun event, the street closes down in the name of all things sweet and savory. The grills will be lit, food trucks will be out in spades and beer tents will be jumpin’. Live acts will entertain from noon until 7:00 p.m. As if that’s not enough, you can shop until you drop plus there’s a pie-eating contest. The weather is supposed to be sunny and not too hot on Saturday so I say check it out. It’s a free event with pay-as-you-go food and drinks. #yum
