Welcome to the last edition of Around the Block for the year 2020. What a year! I mean even that clock in the graphic above looks a little like the coronavirus, right?
I raise a glass to each of you (it is Friday night and I am literally raising a glass of cider from locally grown Pennsylvania apples from Young American Hard Cider on Germantown Avenue, which I highly recommend). I thank each and every one of you for reading this newsletter, for being my client or friend, or for just being here in 2020 and sharing this crazy year with everybody else.
And what a wacky year. In my entire career as an attorney (in the 1990’s) and as a real estate broker (since 2001), I never worked from home. Never even had a home office. Ever. Just a laptop, iPhone, and the kitchen table. I was always in the office or the field. Now in 2020, I have only been in the office a few times in nine months! And guess what? It has been all right. My home office is cool. I even love when my 5-year old comes in when I am on a super important business call. I mean I send him right out, but not before I give him a hug. I love it. And I still spend a lot of time in the field, safely of course. I love that too. The crazy thing is that even with all this, and getting to see the family much more than ever, the City Block Team still sold more real estate in 2020 than in 2019.
The year had so many downs as well, and a lot of friends are really struggling with their businesses. And my wife’s beloved Papa was just diagnosed with the COVID-19 in assisted living. So far, so good, and my prayers are with him. He is truly a great man. I know so many have died or had long-term effects, and so many families have suffered either with their health or their finances, or both. I wish the best to all and hope 2021 is better.
Since most of you will be at home through the holidays, I hope you all have more of a chance to relax than you might normally have. Maybe less running around.
I will be at home with family and still working as well, of course, because that is one way that I relax. During this year, I have come to realize that unprecedented times call for deep knowledge and understanding in my field for sure; so now, more than ever, my clients appreciate how thoroughly I understand and see to every detail of their home sale transaction.
I wish all happiness, prosperity, and health, and I look forward with optimism to next year–2021.

CBT Open Houses on hold. Safe private showings continue.
|
The City Block Team strives to be a leader in the real estate community, and keeping our clients and community safe is always a primary goal. So our open houses remain on hold until further notice due to the substantial rise in COVID-19 cases in the Philadelphia area.
All of our listings remain available for safe, private showings at your convenience, and we are always available to show.
So if you planned to hit an open house this weekend, just let me know ([email protected]). Or, if you already have a buyer agent, please contact them, and we will set the showing right away, at your convenience.
Thank you for your understanding.
