Hi Readers,

 

This week, I want to write about how much I appreciate the City Block Team. I am the Team Leader, and in addition to me, CBT has nine awesome agents and two superb full-time licensed admins. I love selling real estate with such an incredible group of professionals. Whether agent or administrative staff, each member of the team pledges to provide Expert Real Estate Representation to each City Block Team client.

 

This past Tuesday, City Block Team enjoyed a night out for one of our periodic dinner and event evenings. In the past, we have done escape rooms, axe throwing, ping pong, clay mug making, and other team-building type things. Plus, dinners at Zahav, Mission Taqueria, the late Bing Bing Dim Sum, and various other places for sushi, Italian, Turkish, and the like. We have done many different Philly neighborhoods and try to do the dinner and event in the same area. This week, we hit Bad Brother in Fairmount, followed by Halloween Nights at the Eastern State Penn. I highly recommend the elevated American food at Bad Brother (24th & Meredith), and as you probably know, the haunted Halloween at ESP is a Philly classic. It was a lot of fun, and I was up much later than usual!

I wanted to give a shout-out to the entire City Block Team—Missy Tewksbury has been on the team since early 2013, Peter Watson since 2014, Martin Goldfarb since 2016, and Melani Lamond since 2018. Carrie Waterman joined CBT from another team right before the pandemic in January 2020, and Lauren Morihara joined right after the lockdown. Both Jamie Foster and Tsion Habtamu came in early 2022, along with our most recent addition, Maria Cuscavage, in late 2022. Most of the CBT agents came to the team with previous real estate experience. Especially Melani Lamond, who has been selling Philly real estate since 1984. I started in Philly real estate in 2001. CBT Senior Listing Coordinator Greg Zarro joined CBT in 2007 (but we have been best friends since high school at Friends Select in the 1980s!). And CBT Transaction Coordinator Shelby Pihl joined in 2022 and fit right in!

In addition to my team, I also want to mention the incredible support we get from the Compass employees. From the superb sales managers (one of whom, Josh Solow, used to be a CBT agent), to our expert and creative marketing team, to the thoroughly helpful Agent Experience Managers, and to Compass’s upper-level management—who have provided consistent support from 2018 to the present. And thank you to those I have never met—like Compass’s state-of-the-industry tech team, who provide us with the best real estate technology on the planet.

Finally, closest to home, I want to thank my family for their unwavering support—my wife Kristen, my boys Ari and Ezra, and my dog Monty, who is always super enthusiastic whenever I get home (and also enjoys the occasional trip to the office).
